Silk Purse is a thrilling literary tale that chronicles the life of a young boy as he tries to secure a place for himself in the wider world.
This book was way better than what the first few chapters made it out to be. The introduction was not really impactful. But I guess intros are supposed to be like that.
As the story progresses, it becomes involving. I particularly liked Catherine, both as a child and adult.
I had little difficulty in understanding the meaning of few dialogues because of the accent depicted. Also, Jerrard’s writing seemed more like a movie script. There was enough description to follow the story. I think there could have been more description of the setting. Few of the conversations lacked enough dialogues. I would have very much liked to read how the character reached a certain decision.
Apart from that, I liked the story, characters, setting. All good!
